CNC Turning
Turning is where Pitchline started. A bar of material is held in the chuck and rotated while the tool removes metal to produce a round component: shafts, spindles, pins, bushes, adaptors, housings, valve bodies and threaded parts. Because the lathes are fed automatically, the same part comes off the machine the same way, hour after hour.
- We have a line of 14 Lathes (including 2 Mill Turns)
- Our maximum diameter (Ø) of 310mm means that we can accommodate large and small work loads.
- With a maximum run length of up to 1m, assisting with our ability to do large, custom work at varying lengths.
- Our production line boasts 12 lathes that are equipped with automatic Barfeeders ensuring high speed production and accuracy throughout the process.

CNC turning questions
What is the largest part you can turn?
Up to Ø 310mm in diameter and up to 1m in length, so we can take both large custom work and small production components on the same line.
Can you handle long production runs?
Yes. Twelve of our fourteen lathes run with our own automatic barfeeders, which means unattended high speed production with consistent accuracy through the run.
What materials do you turn?
Mild and stainless steels, alloy and tool steels, brass, bronze, aluminium and engineering plastics. Tell us the specification and we will confirm before quoting.
Can turning and milling be done on one part?
Yes. Two of our lathes are mill turns, and we also have five CNC milling machines, grinding and gear cutting in the same factory, so a part never leaves our control.
